From 1 Kings 18, this message from Pastor David Hall captures Elijah’s showdown on Mount Carmel and the defining question for every believer: “How long will you waver between two opinions?” With a nation compromised by Baal worship, Elijah calls for a public test—“the God who answers by fire, He is God”—and after rebuilding the broken altar, digging a trench of separation, pouring water on the sacrifice in the middle of a drought, and then praying a faith-filled, covenant-based prayer, the fire of the Lord falls and consumes everything. The sermon is a call back to wholehearted devotion, a rebuilt altar life, holy separation without legalism, and a renewed hunger for the empowering fire of the Holy Spirit—because God still answers by fire today.
